“3 in 4 Gaza detainees held without trial by Israel are civilians, according to Israel's own military database”
Partly supported, but overstated. A leaked Israeli military intelligence database (reported Sept 2025 by +972, Local Call and The Guardian) listed only about 1 in 4 of ~6,000 Gaza detainees as Hamas or Islamic Jihad fighters. But "not listed as a militant in that database" is not the same as "civilian," the IDF disputes the figures, and the broader version heard in conversation — "most Palestinian prisoners are non-combatants" — cannot be verified: most are held without conviction, but whether they are combatants is not publicly known.
“A leaked BBC memo told staff the amount of aid entering Gaza is "irrelevant" and to blame Israel”
The quote is real; "blame Israel" is a characterization. A July 25, 2025 internal BBC email, reported by The Spectator, said "the argument over how much aid has crossed into Gaza is irrelevant" and that coverage should say the aid system "doesn't work," describing Israel as the occupying power. No BBC response was found.
“Aid sits rotting at the border, Hamas steals what gets in and hoards baby formula — yet the world blames Israel for starvation”
Partly supported. Hamas has been filmed seizing aid and beating people seeking it, and large amounts of aid did pile up uncollected at the crossings. But a US government review found no evidence of systematic Hamas theft of US-funded aid, the reasons aid sat uncollected are disputed between Israel and the UN, the baby-formula warehouse video is a single unverified source, and Israel itself restricted aid — including a total halt from March to May 2025.
“Al-Ahli Hospital: it was a Palestinian rocket, it hit a parking lot, and fewer than 20 died”
Mostly right on cause, wrong on the toll. The evidence supports that a misfired Palestinian rocket caused the October 17, 2023 explosion in the hospital's parking area, not an Israeli strike. But US intelligence estimated 100 to 300 people were killed, likely at the low end — not "fewer than 20" (and not Hamas's 471).
“Doctors in Gaza saw children with a single gunshot wound to the head or chest — a sign they were deliberately targeted”
The core observation is credible: fifteen international doctors told de Volkskrant they treated at least 114 children aged 15 and under, each with a single gunshot wound to the head or chest, most of whom died. That the shots came from Israeli forces rests on secondhand eyewitness accounts, and that the children were deliberately targeted is an inference from the wound pattern that has a real gap — neither is established. The IDF declined to answer questions about shooting children.
“Internal Hamas documents show plans to booby-trap civilian areas, blame Israel for the destruction, and count on Western media to spread the narrative”
The first part is supported: an internal Hamas engineering-unit document released by the IDF proposes planting explosives around displaced-persons shelters and detonating them as Israeli troops approach, knowingly endangering civilians. The document has not been independently authenticated. But the second and third parts — blaming Israel and relying on Western media — are not in the document or in the IDF's own description of it; they were added in the social-media retelling.
“Israel let reservists "filmed raping and torturing" a Palestinian detainee at Sde Teiman go free, and returned them to duty”
Partly true. The charges against five reservists over the July 2024 abuse of a Palestinian detainee at Sde Teiman were withdrawn before trial in March 2026, and the army cleared them to return to reserve duty in April 2026 — no one was convicted or punished. But "filmed raping" goes beyond the evidence: the footage shows soldiers screening a detainee behind riot shields, the indictment charged aggravated abuse and serious injury (not rape), and no court ever ruled on whether a sexual assault occurred.
“Many of the "journalists" and "medical workers" Israel killed in Gaza were Hamas or Islamic Jihad operatives — the IDF named 170”
Substantially supported for named individuals. The IDF published 170 names with captured documents; Hamas and Islamic Jihad's own death notices have claimed a number of "journalists" and medical workers as their members; and the Committee to Protect Journalists and the International Federation of Journalists each removed names after those notices. Not every one of the 170 has been independently verified, and the CPJ still counts about 200 journalists and media workers killed in the war.
“Palestinians overwhelmingly support the October 7 attack”
A December 2023 PCPSR poll found 72% West Bank and 82% Gaza support — but the figure requires context about polling under occupation, the timing relative to the Gaza war's escalation, and what "support" means in this context.
