About Truth in a Haystack

Share X Facebook WhatsApp Reddit Email

Truth in a Haystack checks the claims that spread online — viral posts, headlines, videos and talking points — against the evidence.

  • We check the version of a claim people actually saw: the post, the headline or the clip, with a link to the original.
  • We separate checkable facts from opinion, and only rate the facts.
  • We show the evidence on all sides, with sources you can check yourself.
  • We invite challenges, and we publicly correct any verified error.

The goal is not to tell you what to think, but to give you what you need to tell a credible claim from a false one, whoever is making it.

Meet Tech Chick Truth

Tech Chick Truth, the AI-generated animated presenter of Truth in a Haystack's videos: an illustrated woman with short silver hair and a red blazer on a blue background

Tech Chick Truth is the animated presenter of our short videos on social media.

To be upfront: she is not a real person.

  • Her image is AI-generated. We deliberately gave her an illustrated, cartoon style rather than a photo-realistic one, so no one mistakes her for a real person.
  • Her voice is AI-generated. It is a digital voice created from the voice of a real member of our team.
  • Her words are ours. Her scripts are written by the Truth in a Haystack team and held to the same evidence standards as this site.

Each of her videos covers one claim and points back to its full page here, where every source is linked so you can check it for yourself.
